St Mark's CE Primary School

Church School Partnership

We are extremely proud of the warm and close relationship with our friends at St Mark’s Church. Our school family love to visit the church as part of our Religious Education curriculum. We also visit to share special events and festivals. Each year we worship together in church to celebrate Harvest, Christmas and Easter.  We hold a very special graduation service for our Y6 pupils to celebrate their journey with us at St Mark’s. Attending events such as ‘walking Nativity’ enables us to come together with our friends from neighbouring schools.

We value this special time with our community.

St Mark's Church Newtown

Pupils and adults engage fully with collective worship. It is central to the school’s ethos and Christian witness. Worship is relevant and sincere, and makes a huge difference to the lives of all members of the school community. The variety in leadership, style and format of worship ensures that it is always engaging. Biblical teaching is a very strong element, setting the values into their Christian context. Collective worship is inspiring. The worship opportunities offered through church and school are fresh and inventive. Careful planning and evaluation by staff, clergy, church members and pupils ensures that the evolution of worship continues to be pupil-friendly. These are exciting times to be a member of the St Mark’s family. SIAMS 2017
