At St Mark’s CE Primary School we strive to instil positive attitudes towards learning, behaviour and our community. Staff truly believe that the children can achieve anything and put 100% effort into helping them become the best that they can be. School aims to foster a love of learning; making lessons engaging, fun and challenging. We encourage our children to have high aspirations, to build resilience and have a ‘Can do!’ attitude. Our shared belief is that this can only be achieved through a firm partnership with parents, children and the local community.

A culture of belonging spreads throughout school, ensuring that all of our families feel safe and welcome. Strong pastoral links allow our children to flourish and grow in a nurturing and Christian environment.

I have been part of the WINGS’ family since it formed in 2015 and am extremely proud of how it has developed and grown over this time. Going from strength to strength, we believe in raising pupil achievement, attainment and outcomes for all.

We look forward to continuing the journey alongside you and welcoming you into St Mark’s Christian family.

Mrs K Ferguson - Headteacher

St Mark's has a long history in our community, being established for over a century, and enjoys strong links with our Church which is situated close by.

From September 2015, St Mark's became part of a 'hard federation' with Atherton St George's CE Primary School to form The Wings' Federation.  Being part of The Wings' Federation family of schools provides our pupils, and staff, with increased opportunities to share great practice and resources.  As from 1st April 2017 we became a Multi Academy Trust and we are now known as 'The Wings' CE Trust'.

We seek to develop independent, self disciplined, happy children with a love of learning who have acquired all the attitudes, knowledge and skills to enable them to fulfil their potential both here and in later life.

We believe that this can only be achieved through close co-operation between home and school and we seek to develop strong relationships with parents.
